Internal Affairs Division

Bylaws Committee
Chair: Jim Pitts (AZ)
Mission: The mission of the Bylaws Committee shall be to review
and ensure the by laws are adhered to by all members. The committee
shall also make recommendations for modifications to the by
laws and the Book of Rules as well as review any proposed revisions
offered by the general membership or other standing committees.
This review is to ensure wording and changes are consistent
with the Bylaws and shall include an objective pro and con analysis
of the proposed change.
Copyright Committee
Chair: Position Open
Mission: The mission of the copyright committee shall be to
position the AIBD as the architectural and building industry's
principal source for information and education on architectural
intellectual property.
Resolutions Committee
Chair: Lyle Breeze (FL)
Mission: The mission of the Resolutions Committee shall be to
review any and all grievances, internal or external, brought
before the Institute, and to make recommendations to the Board
of Directors for the resolution of same.
Membership Benefits Committee
Chair: Position Open
Mission: The mission of the Membership Benefits Committee shall
be to research, review, and implement any programs that are
being considered or are needed for the general membership. This
committee shall then monitor these programs and market these
programs to the membership.
Headquarters Committee
Chair: Michael Keesee
Mission: The mission of the Headquarters Committee shall be
to review and enhance the national headquarters operations.
Society Officers Committee
Chair: Michael Keesee
Mission: The mission of the society officers committee is to
meet twice yearly to provide a connection for communication
among societies and the national office, discuss ideas for improvement,
and provide leadership development for current and future officers.
Convention Division
Division Chair: Dan Sater (FL) Internal Vice President
Planning Committee
The committee will be responsible for or aid staff with:
· Site selections.
· Facility selections.
· Tour selections.
· Establishing the convention budget and schedule.
· Oversee the convention website and registration.
· Assist in technical or procedural questions with staff.
· Review convention management contracts.
Design Competition Committee
Chair: Mike Battaglia (OH)
The committee will be responsible for or aid staff with:
. Selection of judges
. Reviewing categories and divisions
. Reviewing judging criteria
. Assist in coordination of offsite judging
. Setting up design comp room during the convention
. Coordinating judges and judging during convention
. Assist in technical or procedural questions with staff, judges
and entrants
. Be on site for design comp awards ceremony
Seminar Committee
Chair: Dan Sater (FL)
The committee will be responsible for:
. Compiling information on possible seminars for convention
. Researching costs, scheduling, content of seminars . Ideas
for Architectural Tour(s)
Revenue Division
Division Chair: Viki Wooster (OR), Secretary/Treasurer
Budget Committee
Chair: Viki Wooster (OR)
Mission: The mission of the Budget Committee is to review the
validity of the current budget on a quarterly basis, and establish
the budget for the upcoming year.
Annual Review Committee
Members: Tom Schmelter (CT), Gordon Hoehle (CA), Janis Vann (GA)
Mission: The mission of the Annual Review Committee is to perform
the annual review of the finances and operation of the Institute
as directed by the Bylaws and report its findings to the Board
of Directors at the Mid Year Board Meeting.

International Relations Committee
Chair: Jeff Rice (CA)
Mission: The mission of the International Relations Committee
is to develop and maintain relations with other building designer
groups in foreign countries.
Corporate Member Advisory Committee
Chair: Dan Sater (FL)
Mission: The mission of the Corporate Membership Committee is
to develop programs and opportunities that will encourage corporations
to become members. This committee is also responsible for targeting
new corporate members.
Designer Membership Committee
Chair: Christopher Vaughn (TN)
Mission: The mission of the Designer Membership Committee is
to develop programs and opportunities that will encourage designers
to become members. This committee is also responsible for soliciting
new designer members and for organizing and promoting our membership
program.
Membership Survey Committee
Chair: Alan Kent (TX)
Mission: The mission of the Membership Survey Committee is to
construct, print, mail, and assemble database information. This
information is to be used by various committees and the Board
to better serve our membership and use for corporate recruitment.

Residential Codes and Standards
Committee
Chair: David Velderman (MI))
Mission: Advocate nationally for code change amendments and
standards reflecting the best interests of the residential design
industry, develop strategic partnerships, and represent AIBD
at ICC Code Development hearings.
Continuing Education Committee
Chair: John Police (IN)
Mission: The mission of the Continuing Education Committee is
to maintain, update as needed, and administer the AIBD continuing
education policy.
Political Liaison Committee Chair:
Mission: The mission of the Political Liaison Committee is to
maintain a working relationship with government agencies, industries,
and organizations that affect our profession.
Legislative Committee

Mission: The mission of the Legislative Committee is to identify,
address, and assist in resolving any proposed legislation changes
that will impact our profession on both a state and national
basis.
Universal & Sustainable Design Committee
Chair: Larry Gilland (CO)
Mission: To support universal and sustainable design in residences
throughout the industry, to provide the resources to help our
members add these two specialties to their design repertoire
and to promote the good work done by our members in these two
arenas.
Publicity & Publications Division

Web Site Committee
Chair: Henry Souza (WA)
Mission: The mission of the Web Site Committee is to propose
direction, content, and purpose for the web site and to assist
in implementation of updates.
Forms & Publications Committee
Chair: Position Open
Mission: The mission of the Forms and Publications Committee
is to research and update forms and publications that will enhance
the services offered by and to AIBD members.
Media Committee
Chair: Position Open
Mission: The mission of the Print Media Committee is oversee
the purposes, content, appearance, production and distribution
of AIBD's printed and electronic publications.
Marketing/Publicity/Advertising Committee

Mission: The mission of the Marketing & Publicity Committee
is to set a direction and a message that AIBD wants to share
with specifically targeted entities.
