As an employer, use these tests for a number of reasons. They are commonly used to evaluate job candidates to find the best fit for the opportunity.

Educational Session – Communicating Your Architectural Style

By Ariel Faith-Robinson

Allow author and historic design consultant, Ariel Faith, to walk you through the process of navigating through local design criteria, shaping a traditional home, and effectively communicating your designs to a local city or private community, the builder, and the homeowner, throughout your entire project.

Learn how to present new ideas in an old community, beginning with precedence, identifying key elements, referencing and working with pattern books, and still conform to the intent of the codes and criteria.

Go back to your practice understanding what a New Traditional building is not, and why Google searches are so confusing. Finally, be able to more confidently present a design that communicates key elements the community is looking for which will save you time.

Welcome + Educational Session – Modern Materials for Traditional Designs

By Fernando Pages-Ruiz

Begin applying guidelines to help you work within the limitations of the construction industry while taking advantage of building material innovations that add value to TNDs.

The session emphasizes a “less is more” approach to achieving sustainable communities that are also quite beautiful. See the revelations of what today’s modern materials are capable of.

It moves away from over-adornment of individual facades and puts the focus on the entire block face as a design collective, giving way to natural elements that define each architectural style.
