Congratulations to Ted Hake, CPBD, CGP! – MondayMINUTE

June 15, 2020 edition of the AIBD’s MondayMINUTE weekly newsletter.
Announcements
AIBD turns 70 in July.
On July 11th, 1950, in a small office, located in downtown Pasadena, an organization dedicated to the enhancement, education, and advocacy of building designers across the nation was born.

Beginning as the United Designers Association (UDA), a California association, we quickly joined the efforts of other state organizations, such as Texas, Washington, Oregon, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and more, desired to build a national federation. As a result, UDA pivoted to become the American Institute of Building Design, led by the first AIBD President William Dingledy.

July 10 through 13 is dubbed our anniversary weekend, which will be kicked off by Coffee With Bernie and celebrated with a four-day membership drive.

Stay tuned for more announcements.

AIBD board member, Ted Hake, as been accepted to the NAHB Custom Home Builders Committee (CHBC). The CHBC represents builders who specialize in the planning and design of custom homes. It creates strategic alliances and reviews resolutions and policies as they specifically relate to custom home building.

Ted Hake has owned award-winning Hake Custom Design LLC in Canton, OH, for more than 20 years. In addition to currently serving as AIBD Director, he is also on the local BIA board of directors and chairs the AIBD’s American Residential Design Awards (ARDA).
