Coffee With Bernie (Special Episode)

April 27 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am EDT

An International Design Day Celebration!

Virtually connect with fellow creatives to discuss what design means to you and how it affects others.

Coffee With Bernie is an open discussion by designers hosted by AIBD’s Immediate Past President, Bernie Kern, usually on the second Friday of each month.

During this special episode, Bernie will explore the effects of not requiring an architectural license for single-family homes and townhouses on residential design in America.

The AIBD Board of Directors has chosen social equity as its focus during today’s International Design Day, and they invite everyone to participate in the exploration.

While there may be some good arguments in favor of not requiring an architectural license to design single-family homes and townhouses, whether or not it is a good example of social equity is up for debate.

Ultimately, it is up to organizations like the AIBD to carefully evaluate the potential benefits and drawbacks and make informed decisions to promote social equity in architecture.

Join us and help promote fair and equal access to opportunities in residential design and foster a more diverse and inclusive design community.
