The GreenHome Institute’s – “Comparing the Residential Green Building Certification Programs”
December 15, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST
Free – $130Details about this event
Residential Green Building Certifications are great tools you can use to make sure your next project meets the 5 pillars of green building.
Energy | Health | Materials | Water | Place.
Using these tools, you can manage a project from design through early operations to maximize all pillars.
Renovations through new construction, single-family through high rise mixed use multifamily, we will compare and contrast the main green building rating system so you can determine which is right for you and your clients.
We will look at who managed these programs, what types of living spaces they apply to, prerequisite and credit overview, difficulty, who can help, quality assurance, and costs.
Bonus – We will discuss how they may be required or rewarded to achieve major tax benefits for low income or market rate housing.
Programs include
LEED for Homes
Enterprise Green Communities
National Green Building Standard
GreenStar Homes Certification
We will also reference the living building challenge and LEED O + M as well.
This course is part of our ongoing Certified GreenHome Designation Training but can be viewed as a standalone. Unless you are already familiar with green building practices and energy ratings, we highly encourage you to attend the Basics of Residential Green Building and Remodeling Courses and Comparing the Residential Energy Rating Systems first.
