Webinar – Changes to the Florida Building Code, October 6.
If you’re offering design services in Florida, you’ll want to know the important changes to the Florida Building Code taking effect on January 1.

The chairman of the FHBA Codes & Standards Committee, Mike Keesee, FAIBD, will present the sections of the code he feels are the ones that affect residential building designers the most.

Examples include a new floor-to-floor limitation for stairs, decks and porch provisions, glazed door clarifications, soffit construction, sheathing fastenings, and more.

AIBD’s Coffee With Bernie…
…is a monthly “fishbowl” open space discussion hosted by AIBD Internal VP, Bernie Kern, on the second Friday.

This month’s opening topic…

…is to meet your AIBD staff.

Our AIBD staff consists of Executive Director Steven Mickley, Communications Director Garrett Mickley, Certification Director Rusty Hudnet and Administrative Director Amber Thomas.

You may have met them before or even have years of working together with them. But let’s find out up more about who handles our AIBD Institute on a daily basis.

There is a reason why they have been nick-named the A-Team.

Join us for an informal chat. Be prepared to ask questions that may enhance your membership experience.

4 weekly tips to improve your life & business
Would you enjoy getting a short email from me (Steve Mickley) every Friday, that provides a little morsel of fun before the weekend?

4x Friday is a very short email I send out with four of the coolest things I’ve found, learned, or experienced that week.

It could include new products, ideas, tips, articles, hacks, and tricks.
Mostly building design and construction-related things, but maybe some weird stuff I dig up along the way, too.

It’s very short. A tiny bite of goodness before you head off for the weekend.
