How we could make carbon-negative concrete.
“It can’t just be green; it has to be better.” – Tom Schuler, CEO Solidia Technologies, Inc.

As building designers, we all specify concrete.

It’s the second most-used substance on earth (behind water) and one of the world’s biggest emitters of carbon.

Yet, over the last 2000 years, the process of mixing cement hasn’t changed.

Listen to entrepreneur Tom Schuler’s solution to creating concrete in a way that makes it a carbon sink that traps CO2 from the atmosphere, use 70% less water, and still produce a viable building material.

A part of the COUNTDOWN conference on climate change, hosted by TED on Saturday, Mr. Schuler’s talk is one of 30+ presentations focused on urgency, leadership, transformation, breakthroughs, and action.

4 weekly tips to improve your life & business
Would you enjoy getting a short email from me (Steve Mickley) every Friday, that provides a little morsel of fun before the weekend?

4x Friday is a very short email I send out with four of the coolest things I’ve found, learned, or experienced that week.

It could include new products, ideas, tips, articles, hacks, and tricks.
Mostly building design and construction-related things, but maybe some weird stuff I dig up along the way, too.

It’s very short. A tiny bite of goodness before you head off for the weekend.
