Thank you for honoring your profession by continuing your CPBD certification.

Below is a tutorial video and written instructions with screenshots. The written accompaniments are in a condensed version and an expanded version.

There is also a CE certificate you may fill out and upload as you use this tool for the first time.

It's a real CE certificate. You will receive 1.0 P1-CE for successfully logging into your account and claiming the credit using the MyCEApp.

This seems like a very long procedure. The instructions are detailed, but the process is intuitive. Once you've done this, you'll be an expert. After all, you passed the CPBD Exam.

Just as you may have done in the past, your CE certificates (or other verification documents) may be submitted using these three methods.
  1. Mail to AIBD, 110 Front Street, Suite #300, Jupiter, FL 33477.
  2. Faxed to (866) 204-0293
  3. Email to info@AIBD.org.
We've instituted an online CE App with a full suite of features to make keeping on top of CE credits easier for everyone.

Our goals are for you to know where you stand in the recertification process anytime the question comes to mind and to thwart inflation and keep recertification fees affordable.

By the way, it's called MyCEApp, but it's really just an online platform. Our partners, the Advanced Continuing Education Association (ACEA), are working on an actual mobile app version. We'll email everyone when we've confirmed it works.

Earn 1.0 P1-CE for uploading this certificate into your personal profile at MyCEApp.com using this new tool.

Both new and long-time CPBDs must contact us to get their unique Username and Passwords.

Please do NOT click "Sign up!"

This is because AIBD sets up your account for connecting your CPBD data and any prior education with your personal account.

The Username and Password may be changed after you've logged in the first time.

Long-time CPBDs already have an educational history. Everyone's accounts were migrated from the old Netforum platform to this new CE App in July 2022. You can still access the old data via AIBD.org/HUB. But all your CEs can be found on the CE App after that date.

Your Certification Director can be reached by emailing Certification@AIBD.org or by calling (800) 366-2423 (extension 2).

Congratulations! You're logged in!

You should arrive at your personal landing page. On the left side, you'll see your CPBD credentials, including your CPBD number and your current cycle's expiration date.

At the bottom is a button to add any additional credentials you have and want to track manually on your own.

On the right side is a place to add your specialties and other association affiliations. Remember, this list of specialties does not link to the "Specialties" listed in the AIBD's online membership roster.

The purpose of this specialties list is to one day be able to filter and alert CPBDs when educational events coming up that may align with their personal interests.

In the top center is a button labeled View "CE Progress." There's another one labeled "Track CE." They both go to the same place on this page.

The steps to upload a new CE certificate

Step 1 - Have your verification document (e.g., certificate, follow-up email, etc.) ready in an image or PDF file format.

Step 2 - Click the "CE Progress" or the "Track CE button."

Step 3 - Click the "+ Record New CE button."
MyCEapp image 6.png 64.8 KB View full-size Download

Step 4 - Enter the name of the course.

Step 5 - Enter the number of credit hours.

Step 6 - Enter the date of the event. It is important that you not enter the date you are uploading the credit but instead the date you received the education. To recertify, you must get a certain number and type of CEs during each cycle. CEs can be applied to prior cycles to make up for a shortfall but can not be carried forward to a new cycle.

Step 7 - Choose the mandatory topic the education you received aligns with.
It is not critical that you choose correctly; this step may be skipped.
The certification blueprint can be found beginning on page 39 of the Certification Handbook (https://AIBD.org/chb). There are four Knowledge Areas (KAs) listed.
  1. Business Administration
  2. Business Practices
  3. Design Process
  4. Building Design (which also includes building sciences)
For the purposes of CE reporting, we've combined the first two KAs - Business Administration and Practices. You may review the list to find the topic and then choose the appropriate KA.

If you feel the topic overlaps, more than one Mandatory Topic can be chosen.

When the Certification Director reviews and approves your CE credit, they may disagree with your choice and change the classification. You may appeal the action.

Step 8 - Choose the Credit Type.
It is not critical that you choose correctly; this step may be skipped.
There are two Credit Types.
  1. Primary - Any classroom, webinar, or formal educational setting provides information or knowledge that aligns with one of the KAs listed in the Certification Handbook.
  2. Elective -
    1. Any architectural tour.
    2. Volunteer service on a planning board.
    3. Writing an article or blog post.
    4. Presenting a workshop or teaching a class/webinar.
    5. Design competition or awards program entries.
    6. Charitable projects.
    7. Passing a certificate, certification, or licensure exam other than the CPBD Exam (e.g. CAPS, ARE, LEED, etc.)
    8. Training an intern.
    9. Product demonstrations and training.
When the Certification Director reviews and approves your CE credit, they may disagree with your choice and change the classification. You may appeal the action.
