Speaker

Connor Dillon, BSI, strives to help his clients build better businesses so they can lead better lives. In his chosen profession, this relies on verifying conformity to ISO and ANSI Standards, in order to certify projects under above-code programs such as ENERGY STARĀ®. This helps ensure that the end-user, the homebuyer, gets the house promised to them by the builder. One that is energy efficient, resilient, and comfortable to live in. Building Science Institute, Ltd. Co., (BSI) is a nationally recognized ENERGY STAR Home Certification Organization (HCO), partnered with HouseRater, to provide oversight, training, and business improvement support to energy rating companies.

Lessons Learned

  1. Review the process and tools to verify energy savings in housing and meet the LEED BD+C V4(.1) Residential EA Minimum Energy Performance.
  2. Discuss the Inflation Reduction Act 45L Requirements and how to verify better-built homes to achieve tax credits and supersede LEED BD+C V4(.1) Residential EA Minimum Energy Performance.
  3. Know where to get more information to find help becoming or hiring a verifier who assists a project in meeting IRA 45L and LEED BD+C V4(.1) Residential EA Credit Annual Energy Performance.
  4. Articulate the benefits understand and reducing operational carbon in design when using the ANSI CO2e Rating Index
