Meet AIBD’s FIRST Certification Director – MondayMINUTE

June 29, 2020 edition of the AIBD’s MondayMINUTE weekly newsletter.
Announcements
Meet AIBD’s first Certification Director.
Rusty Hudnet, a senior member of the AIBD A-Team, has completed the Institute of Credentialing Excellence‘s (ICE) Certificate Program for the Credentialing Specialist and is being elevated to AIBD Certification Director.

As an ICE Credentialing Specialist, Rusty has gained insight into the eco-system of certification from a program’s conception, through its development and delivery, to maintenance and improvement.

Rusty is a former building designer who began five years ago providing part-time admin support to the National Council of Building Designer Certification, or NCBDC, the body within AIBD responsible for the Certified Professional Building Designer (CPBD) program.

For the past few months, his focus has been solely on the CPBD program and in just a short time, the results have been very positive.

Let’s celebrate!
AIBD turns 70 years young on July 11th! More candles mean a bigger wish, so we’re throwing a party all weekend!

The celebration kicks off July 10 at 10 am (EDT) on Coffee With Bernie. Then, a four-day membership drive runs through midnight on July 13.

Existing members can earn a free renewal by recruiting three new members.

New members get 12 months for only $70.

ARDA Global Choice voting begins Wednesday!
You be the Judge!

Each year, the world is invited to help choose the American Residential Design Award’s Global Choice Award winner.

Voting begins July 1st and goes to July 31.

Mark your calendar and set aside a few moments to vote for your favorite.

Then make plans to be on hand at the AIBD Awards Gala on August 15th at the Antlers Hotel, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Links: maybe link the program title to the landing page, but I’m okay with no links, too.

The National Council of Building Designer Certification is a designated body within the organization, charged with governing the Institute’s professional certification examination program.
Applications to join the Council are always accepted and those who will serve for a one-year term are chosen at the Council’s Annual Meeting, August 13, 2020. To be considered, all applications must be a CPBD and submit their application on or before June 30.

Events
AIBD moves forward with Summer Conference planning.
“Protect Our Neighbors,” the next phase in Colorado’s reopening plan, officiall took effect last Thursday!

That means, the AIBD Summer Conference, and ALL of its typical events may move ahead. The event is scheduled for August 13-15. Here’s the proposed schedule.

AIBD agrees with Gov. Jared Polis, “These kinds of activities need a way that they can function without jeopardizing the lives of those who attend.” Therefore, there will be limited seating and other safety policies.

We are also working with the Antlers Hotel to provide a “hybrid” event, giving those who are unable or reluctant to travel, the opportunity to attend virtually.

Coffee With Bernie, July 10.
Join Bernie Kern, AIBD’s newly inducted President (by then), to virtually celebrate AIBD’s 70th Birthday and launch a new and exciting membership drive.

Share coffee (bring your own), questions, ideas, stories, and more. Anything goes (almost anything) at Coffee With Bernie, a free event hosted by AIBD using Hopin.

Advanced registration is not required, but if you want to receive automated reminders, do it now!

Central Florida’s Chapter will be meeting virtually July 22, 2020!

The meeting room will open at 2:00 PM, 5 minutes prior to the presentation.

The presentation will then begin and take place from 2:05-2:45 PM and be followed by a meeting from 2:45-3:00 PM.

The presentation will be done by Roman Rock.
